Classic Commercials
Several of these commercials require RealAudio to view. You can download it for free via the link at the bottom of this page. The quality of some Real Audio files are not as good as the MPEG files, but you still get the basic idea of the commmercial as it originally appeared. I've listed these with the file-type, followed by the year the commercial originally aired(if I was able to find it).

RealAudio - 1978 - An odd union between Burger King and Pepsi.

RealAudio - 1982 - Another variation on the Coke Is It campaign.

RealAudio - 1983 - Delta, back when airlines actually made money.

RealAudio - 1983 - Excellent E.F. Hutton commercial. With the girl in the classroom saying the alphabet. This one took me back.

RealAudio - 1983 - This one took me back too. Mom sends a card to her daughter at college.

RealAudio - 1984 - Holiday Inn. This one I did not remember, but it's still cool.

RealAudio - 1983 - KFC, well it was still Kentucky Fried Chicken at that time.

RealAudio - 1983 - Lee Jeans. Ugh, this was bad.

RealAudio - 1983 - Remember Like Cola? This is one of the neater one's I've found. It even has a Pac-Man spinoff.

RealAudio - 1987 - Lipton Cup-O-Soup.

RealAudio - 1987 - Nissan in the 80's.


A1 Steaksauce

AVI - 1984 - Old A1 steaksauce commercial.


Apple

Real Audio - One of the first Apple IIc commercials. The only spot that I know of to ever feature Alan Greenspan.


Atari

MOV - Old Atari 2600 commercial for Super Mario Bros.


Barbie

Real Audio - Mid eighties Barbie commercial. One of the reasons that led to the idiotic disclaimer on every commercial stating 'Dolls do not move by themselves'.


Bell

Real Audio - Remember Ma Bell? Here's a classic Bell commercial from 1983.

AVI - 1984 - Gum. Yay.


Campbells

AVI - 1984 - Campbell's Soup.


Chef Boyardee

Real Audio - Chef Boyardee. Old commercial featuring Ravioli and Beefaroni.

AVI - 1988 - Chef Boyardee Dinosaurs. Remember when every kid in the world had a dinosaur craze?

AVI - 1982 - Chef Boyardee has also tried zoo animals in a tomato-like sauce.


Coke

AVI - The tail end of the classic coke commercial featuring Mean Joe Green.

Real Audio - Coke is it. Enough said.


Coleco

MOV - Very early commercial for the Colecovision.


Donkey Kong Cereal

RAM - Donkey Kong Cereal. Sheesh.


Dr. Pepper

Real Audio - Don't you wanna be a Pepper too?


Energizer

AVI - 1989 - This is(reportedly) the very first Energizer Bunny commercial.


Franco-American

AVI - 1983 - Franco-American pasta in a can.


Frosted Flakes

Real Audio - Excellent old Tony the Tiger commercial. Brings out the Tiger in you!

AVI - 1982 - Early Tony the Tiger.


Gatorade

Real Audio - Gatorade. Feh.


G.I.Joe

Real Audio - This was my favorite all-time G.I.Joe commercial. I couldn't wait to find out who Destro was!

Real Audio - One of the very first G.I.Joe action figure commercials.

Real Audio - The first television ad for G.I.Joe comics.

Real Audio - 1986 - Remember the Chicago Bears craze of the mid-eighties? Well, it bled over into the G.I.Joe market as well. And what was the Fridge's weapon? A football on a stick.

Real Audio - 1983 - The G.I.Joe glider.

Real Audio - 1985 - The Wrestling craze also bled over into G.I.Joe. And yes, this WAS the real Sgt. Slaughter.

Real Audio - 1985 - The G.I.Joe Snowcat.

Real Audio - 1985 - When the G.I.Joe Aircraft Carrier(USS Flagg) came out, it became apparent that the toys were getting too big. This thing needed four kids just to carry it around.

Real Audio - 1984 - Zartan, another excellent marketing campaign. Not quite as good as Destro, but you still really wanted him.

Real Audio - 1982 - One of the very first G.I.Joe television ads.


GoBots

AVI - 1984 - The GoBots were created to rival Transformers. They didn't quite do the job.


Hershey

Real Audio - Mid eighties Hershey commercial.


Honey Smaks

AVI - 1983 - HoneySmaks. 'DIGUM!' Is a talking frog the best spokesman for an edible product?


Hostess

AVI - 1984 - An excellent old Hostess commercial, featuring Twinkie the Kid.

AVI - 1988 - For a moment there, Hostess tried mixing fruit filling into the Twinkies. Take a lesson from Coke, don't mess with a classic.


Kellogg's

AVI - 1984 - Kellogg's Corn Pops.


KoolAid

Real Audio - A classic featuring the big KoolAid pitcher guy yelling 'Oh Yeah!' and breaking through a wall.


Life Cereal

Real Audio - The classic 'Mikey will eat anything' commercial. This was actually originally filmed and aired in the seventies, but made a reappearance in the eighties.


McDonalds

Real Audio - Old Ronald McDonald and Grimace commercial. There is even an appearance by the Hamburglar.

AVI - 1984 - Featuring Birdie the Early Bird, and a host of other McDonald's characters that we have to presume dead. Even the little 'Fry Guys' make a brief appearance.

AVI - 1988 - McDonald's morning.


Miller Lite

Real Audio - Remember the Bob Uecker Miller Lite commercials. Here's one.


Mounds

AVI - 1984 - Sometimes you feel like a nut. Sometimes you don't.


Nintendo

MPEG - Original television commercial for the Legend of Zelda for the NES. Two kids doing the 'Zelda Rap' on a couch. Funny.


Raisin Bran

Real Audio - Excellent 'Two Scoops' commercial.


Right Guard

AVI - 1988 - The Brian Bosworth Right Guard commercial. You can see why he didn't do any more.


Saturday Morning Originals

Real Audio - Time for Timer! The ugly little yellow guy with the tophat. Remember?

AVI - 1984 - Timer did breakfast too! The date I found on this was 1984, I could have sworn these appeared much earlier than that.

WMV - Speak and Spell, featuring Bill Cosby.

MPEG - Blaster, the Autobot who turned into a radio.

MPEG - One of the very first Transformers commercials.
